More loot!

Anonymous rose-sender! Thank you! That cheered me up immensely.

(also, I typed "anonymouse" and didn't notice for a good hour. Rats on brain, please pardon.)

I completely forgot to mention that I got..... Honey and Clover stuff! How in the world did that slip through the cracks in my mind? But yes, I got vols. 1-3 of the manga and DVDs 1-2 (eps. 1-4, the stingy bastards), both in Chinese. I figured Honey and Clover was worth it, and I don't want to wait till the licensed ones come out, though of course I will buy those too. Knowing me, I'll end up with the Chinese, English and Japanese versions of the manga. And whatever assorted merchandise there is.

I also rewatched most of H&C II on the airplane, thanks to my trusty iPod, and I found myself nearly crying at quite a few intervals. Thankfully, I didn't, but I snuffled a bit to myself and probably grossed out the guy sitting next to me.

On the other hand, he threw up in his barf bag while the plane was descending, so he wins the gross out game.

Yup, that would win the gross-out game.

Hachikuro has definitely become a comfort re-watch for me. Alas, I have not been able to find any decent merchandise for it (as in, all I found was a weird pink plastic puffy thing at the local anime merchandise store).

4 episodes over 2 discs?! O_o Gross.

Asides: Gunslinger Girl, Nana, ending of H&C II

Did you get any Gunslinger Girl stuff? I'm so mad that only 3 volumes of the manga were translated into English. I think there are Chinese versions of the later volumes, but I can't read Chinese. *grump* Seeing the covers of the later volumes when I visited Japan was trippy. They surprised me a lot, and now I want them even more.

Also, do you know what's up with Nana? (I've discovered I like saying "NanaManga".) The fansubbers haven't put out any new chapters lately, and I'm wondering if they're taking a break or if the manga ended.

I forget where (in [livejournal.com profile] rachelmanija's LJ?), someone said her friend was really upset with the ending of H&C. I asked if it was the first or second season, and they said they didn't know. So I watched both seasons. The first passed without incident. As the second progressed, I got more and more nervous (and I'm thinking maybe it's time to change my storm door since it is mostly [spoiler]), and saw bad ways the series could end. The ending was not as bad as I feared, but I could see how it could be upsetting.
