I asked the boy about that, and he says that Apple is being sued over that right now -- general battery life is apparently 18 months (with recharging and all), and the warranty is only for a year. Right now, they'll replace it for you for $100 or so.

So, suckily, yeah it's true =(. But I'm sitting here with fingers crossed that the lawsuit'll do something!
