I had meant earlier to thank you for your posts and comments during . . . um, the Great Cultural Appropriation Debate of DOOM is a pretty good name for it. I was hugely impressed with how polite, articulate, and level-headed you were when I -- who wasn't being personally attacked, who was mostly too timid to even participate -- was, like, sputtering with frustration and fury. I imagine it came at a cost, and I wish it hadn't had to, and hell, I'd still have been impressed if you'd gotten publically furious, but -- thank you.

Recent LJ events have got me thinking where I wasn't before, and a lot of people contributed to that. But my thoughts would be a lot more scattered, and I'd be doing a lot more "What, I must be crazy for thinking about race in PoTC" (for example) thinking, if it weren't for some of your posts.
