Update
So the boy and my dad met for the first time today... not sure how that went. Oh well. Am too tired right now because I usually can't fall asleep now until 4 in the morning. For some strange reason, I am always perpetually bored during the daytime, but once night hits, I find all the HTMLing I want to do and the books I want to read and I have to do it right that second! So it rolls around to about then, while I am tossing in bed, trying to sleep, because I have to get up at 8 to go to Monterey with my dad. As I'm drifting off, a car alarm goes off. And it just keeps going. And going. And going.
I hope the owner of that car hears that noise forever in his head.
But I had a fun time at the Monterey Aquarium -- saw lots of jellyfish! They're quite pretty and really weird creatures... they drift around in translucent blobs. It's quite nifty. And I watched the sea otters play, and they are absolutely adorable! Then we went to Carmel-by-the-Sea and just walked around and enjoyed the cute little shops everywhere. I counted 12 Ferraris on our way out, and that doesn't even include those we saw on the way in. You know an area is filthy rich when the sign of wealth isn't a mere BMW or a Mercedes or even a Porsche -- oh no, those are too common, so one must really get a Ferrari. Sheesh.
Then had dinner with the boy and my dad, which was slightly awkward. Now I am alone, and I will open the bottle of sauvignon blanc that my dad got me. He also bought me some other cheap but apparently good red. I have no idea. I'm very bad at wine, but my dad is very happy about it, so I will try and figure out what makes one good and another one bad.
And then I shall eat a peach. Yum.
