Yes, but on the other hand, I think many discussions of race get swallowed up by the fact that there is this argument that American culture consists of minority cultures as well.

It does, in a way, but it also doesn't, because the majority of books and movies and TV and other cultural products are still produced by white people with white characters about white issues, and anything that isn't is tagged as being for a minority audience.

As such, sorry, am tagging this as another thread that should be going in the other comment threads, because the argument that the dominant culture includes the minority ones isn't wrong, but it also turns the focus back to the dominant culture.
