Sorry, this is going to be a comment-and-run, but yes, whiteness is a construct, but would rather discuss it in the other comment threads in other posts, largely because there are lots of people talking about whiteness as a construct and whiteness being composed of many ethnicities, but not that many people talking about minorities of color.
