I remeber CLAMP's X manga included an explanation of the name 'Nataku', due to the Dragon of Earth with the same name.

Nataku was some kind of war god in Chinese mythology that was merely a created hunk of flesh with no soul or real ability to feel emotion.
Or something along those lines.
