Oh, so cool! I actually found this great Chinese cookbook written by two women (second cousins or something) who wanted to learn from their parents how to cook their favorite dishes -- it had interspersed stories and recipes and techniques, I think. Unfortunately, it was also going for sixty some dollars on Amazon, so even with my then discount, it was a little too pricy, sigh.

Er, I'm actually not sure what flavor of Chinese I eat either. It's probably a mix of Cantonese and Zhejiang food (mom and dad, respectively).
