I hope that wasn't spoilery! I figured since the first chapter of the first book involves a scene consulting Jovah via a glowing screen and someone punching in weird symbols, it wouldn't be a terrible spoiler? But yeah, mostly it just seems like background to the romances, which... is not what I would focus on if I had a spaceship as a god that the entire society didn't know about.
